Chickpea Burger
Total time: 15 minutes
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
One 14-ounce can chickpeas,
drained
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon fennel
1/4 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon rosemary
1/8 teaspoon oregano
1/4 cup brown rice flour
1 tablespoon flax meal
For cooking:
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, for
cooking
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Actions:
1. Place the chickpeas in a bowl and mash
them so there are
no chunks.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the
chickpeas and mix well. You can use your
hands for this. Make sure the mixture is well
combined.
3. Form 4 patties.
4. Heat the pan to medium with olive oil and
sauté the remaining 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
and black pepper for 1 minute or until
sizzling until it becomes a thicker paste.
Spread the paste out over the pan and then
add the patties. Cook for 4 minutes on each
side or until golden brown.
